G Series GD74CE-12U Demo by Ashlee Valenzuela

Here's Ashlee Valenzuela on the very unique Takamine G Series GD74CE-12U. Unlike most 12-string guitars, this one was designed for a special stringing style using two sets of six strings, as opposed to a standard 12-string set which has pairs that are an octave apart for the lowest four string pairs. This style is popular in many styles of regional Mexican music. The added string gauge puts a bit of stress on a guitar that is not purpose-built for this demanding style, but the GD74CE-12U (the "U" is for unison) has a reinforced spruce top that is double-x braced to handle the additional string load, while projecting with clarity and sweetness via a flame maple body. The neck is also made of maple for additional structural rigidity. Also includes powerful TP-3G electronics and comes with a gig bag.
