Play Your Takamine Winners
“Play Your Takamine" Performance Contest Winners
It had been a few years since the last time we hosted an actual contest where we got to hear so many of you play your Takamine Guitars. Dozens and dozens of you ended up entering video submissions, and the process of checking out each of your entries was amazing, whether it was admiring the work of the more experienced players or enjoying the efforts of a few folks just starting out as guitarists. Regardless, you’re the ones who made the effort to put in an entry, and you should all be proud of yourselves. Narrowing it down to our grand prize winner and our ten runners-up was a challenge for our judging panel, but we’re happy to now show off the work of our winners.
Grand Prize Winner: Joey Nicholson
One thing that Joey had going for him that made him stand out from the rest… a combination of great-sounding audio, and a terrific performance of his original song “Breezeway”. Joey is using his Takamine ST26 in DADGAD tuning for this sweet tune, and it really captures that lazy, late summer vibe. For his efforts, Joey is getting the all-koa Takamine G Series GN77KCE, along with a premier-quality Takamine guitar cable and a gig bag. Enjoy his performance, and send him your congratulations!
