In Memoriam: Glenn Frey (1948-2016)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of legendary Takamine artist Glenn Frey. His impact on music and musicians around the world cannot be understated.
Born in Detroit, Michigan on November 6, 1948, Glenn was a founding member of one of the biggest rock bands in history, the Eagles. The band formed in Los Angeles in 1971 by Frey along with Don Henley, Bernie Leadon, and Randy Meisner. Glenn was best known as a guitarist and lead vocalist on such classic Eagles songs such as "Take It Easy", "Peaceful Easy Feeling", "Tequila Sunrise", "Already Gone", "Lyin' Eyes", "New Kid in Town", and "Heartache Tonight".
Glenn also had a successful solo career, with Top 40 hits including "Smuggler's Blues", "The Heat Is On", "You Belong to the City", and more.
Takamine sends our heartfelt condolences to all of Glenn's friends, family, and musical colleagues.
